3. Groundmass

VOIDS

 

Vughs. Irregular voids whose origin cannot be attributed to a simple packing of units. Generally large sizes, normally not interconnected to other voids with a similar size.

Vesicles. With spherical or elliptical shapes and smooth walls. Typically due to gases.
