The most important aspect of the internal fabric is lamination, whose features may be:
Microlaminated. They have alternate microlaminations (< 30 microns).
Laminated. Thick laminations (> 30 microns).
In layers. Alternate layers of different textures.
Compound layers. Alternate layers of microlaminated clay and silt.
Thickness and related distribution of the layer should be described. The existence of extintion lines (well defined or not) is very important to define the internal orientation degree.
