Interference colour. How is it formed?

The interference colour is a very important property, but its explanation is extremely complex. We shall therefore gradually develop its basic concepts.

1 polariser + analyser

2 polariser + isotropic mineral + analyser

3 polariser + anisotropic mineral + analyser (position perpendicular to the optic axis)

4 polariser + anisotropic mineral + analyser. Specific position: extinction position

5 polariser + anisotropic mineral + analyser. General position: interference colour
