Abstract: The transportation of soil and runoff produced by 18 erosive events in plots of 25 year old olives, situated on a slope of 30% are evaluated. Three soil management techniques have been studied, no tillage, cover crops and traditional tillage. In each of the rainfall events studied, the intensity of the rainfall in 30 minutes and the EI30 factor of the USLE were controlled. These values have been related to the soil loss and the runoff. In this paper, the measured values as well as the average values are expressed for the period of study.

The conclusion in that there is protective effectiveness in using cover crop inserted into the olive cultivation, as well as increased efficiency of the rainfall when the runoff is reduced.
