Abstract

To study the types of soils, their physical and chemical properties and their main limitations, 35 profiles and 63 drillings have been studied in the area of Torres. The main typologies are calcaric, Leptosols, Cambisols, Calcisols and Regosols, being the latter the dominant soils. Leptosols are the soils with more limitations and Cambisols are the most suitable for the olive-grove. According to the fertility, all the studied soils have low levels in nitrogen, from medium to high in phosphorus, and very low in potassium.

Key words. Soils typologies, physical-chemical properties, fertility, olive trees.
