Abstract
The olive tree cultivation is an important economy factor in the Andalousian region, South of Spain, but erosion may diminish its yield. Erosion acts on most of crops, and produces great losses of soil and nutrients.
This paper studies the surface run-off and sediments wich are produced by a simulated rain (192 mm/h) generated by a LUW minisimulator. It also compares field and laboratory date during an agricola year in a conventional plantation.
The most significant obtain results are 3.80 l/m2 and 16.31 g/m2 for field-fairway; 0.61 l/m2 and 5.16 g/m2 for field-under tree top; 5.01 l/m2 and 19.96 g/m2 for laboratory-fairway and 1.82 l/m2 and 8.04 g/m2 for laboratory-under tree top.
Key words: Erosion, olive tree, run-off.
